Congregational Plate

Congregational Church WWI Brass Plate

On the organ in the Congregational church in Monk Street, there is a brass plate “In memoriam” to the dead of WWI – click on the pictures on the left for an enlarged view.  At the moment we have no further information about this plate – does it mean that the organ itself is the ‘memorial’ and was purchased/built as such and if so who by?  Or was it just a convenient place to put the brass plate?
